Kendleton Farms | Update II

If you follow our Instagram account (@southernfarmhousedesigns -- it's so cute, you should take a look!) you have most likely noticed that we took on an amazing project about 2 months ago at Kendleton Farms! And if you don't know about Kendleton Farms, go visit their website (elijahrising.org) because they are doing awesome things y'all -- it's an 84 acre community that houses women and their children who have survived sex trafficking. Like we said, awesome. Anyways, we have had the opportunity to reno the bathroom at the farm and it has been quite a fun experience! We've had some truly wonderful people give donations from cash to toilets! (You know who you are, and we love you for it). A project like this one easily costs $10,000 with the 3 toilets, 3 showers, 3 new windows, and a hot water heater -- we couldn't have done it without you guys! Here's some pictures of our progress!

As for the design of the room, we had to test our skills here to be able to find affordable, yet very stylish items to make this room a sanctuary for the women and children who will be using it. We kept it sleek and clean, using a neutral pallet on the walls combined with simple white tile in the shower stalls. We are adding light wood for the flooring to give the room a warm touch and updating the lighting and bathroom fixtures to revamp this bathroom, making its guests feel like they are in a beautiful, clean place where they can relax and unwind. Just wait for the end result guys, it's almost done and we can't wait to show you how beautiful it turns out!

And now we have been fortunate enough to be given then library area to renovate! Here's what we've got planned for the space: we want to give the space a modern style by using mid-century modern inspired furniture and industrial metal accents. Then we are going to add a pop of color with a teal accent wall and teal decorative objects! So far we've got some awesome white metal desks and the black metal hanging lights from IKEA and some of the gray furniture - it's coming together beautifully, but we've still got a long way to go. It's going to look amazing. We will keep y'all updated!

If you want to be a part of this transformation journey, we are making it easy for you.  Here are a few ways you can help us make this transformation happen--Buy a shirt or coffee mug from our Tee Spring Campaign.

Or you can buy a piece of furniture or an accessory off of our registry and it will be shipped directly to us to be put in the new space.

Here's the design board for the KF library:

The library is a huge space, and we are so thankful for all of the donations that we have received so far.  Painting on the library begins on Monday, December 5th.  Please prayerfully consider donating to this community.
