Fall Decor Inspiration

unspecified-12.jpg

Summer has ended and fall has made it’s arrival…even if fall temperatures haven’t shown up here in Texas yet! Either way, the pumpkins, mums and fall decor is coming out and I have to say, I love it. I’ve already been seeing some fabulous porches and decorating on social media that are drool-worthy!

Here’s my thing though, I like simple.

Simple is classic, simple is timeless, simple is time-friendly and simple is easy for me as a mother/wife/business owner/dog mom/boss/cook/everyday woman.

So the photos I’m going to share of my home aren’t elaborate or over the top but they reflect my style and I hope you can find some inspiration here!

Southern Farmhouse Designs Outdoor Fall Living.jpg

I just changed my outdoor living decor for fall! In Texas, we have crazy weather. One day it will be scorching, blistering hot and then next we’ll have freezing temperatures. We don’t know what to expect in the fall and winter around these parts! Because of this, I don’t necessarily want to spend tons of money on my outdoor decor. I found these great buffalo check pillows from Hobby Lobby for an awesome price. Buffalo check is so timeless and southern, I love it! The blanket is actually a scarf from the Target dollar section because, let’s be real, we won’t need a blanket outside for a few more months. The lanterns are from Target clearance too! Yes I might be crazy for having white cushions but they’re machine washable and I just bleach them, they’re great. I added a little (fake) greenery and ta-da! Simple, timeless fall decor.

Southern Farmhouse Designs Fall Mantle.jpg

Ah mantles. They can be an easy space to decorate or they can be so frustrating. Things look too low, too cluttered, too bare.. Well here’s what I did! I had the mirror, crate and photo already in my home and I layered them to give my mantle decor some height. I chose a simple eucalyptus greenery which pairs so well with everything and it added a softness to our fireplace stone. I threw in some faux pumpkins, including velvet ones for texture, and voila! Again, simple and easy. Plus, it’s a mix of old and new which I love and it still has fall vibes without going overboard and staying within my beloved neutral palette.

Can you guess what I’m going for with my fall table design? Yep, you got it! Simple! For our dining table, I took a vintage bread board I have and used it as my centerpiece base. From there, I layered greenery stems (that I cut from a bush in our yard!) to give it a natural look and then added some antler sheds for that rustic look. Some white pumpkins are perfect to make it a fall look and then the vintage candlesticks added height and dimension. I chose a silver charger with a variety of white plates for the place settings. I like to mix and match my white plates so that they’re all different and I get that vintage feel. I chose a variety of blue and white linen napkins and finished them off with a simple piece of twine. I think all the neutral vintage pieces come together well while the pumpkins tie everything in for fall and the candlesticks add enough of a formal touch to make it appropriate for our dining room.
