It is with a grateful heart that I welcome you to Southern Farmhouse Designs.  This business was born after buying and remodeling our second home in Tomball, Texas.  The joy and love that came with designing a home for our family was indescribable.  After a lot of prayers and a big push from my sweet husband and best friends, I took a leap of faith and started Southern Farmhouse Designs.

I consider it a true honor to be able to create beautiful spaces for my clients and their families. As a wife, mom & business owner my work load changes through different season of life.  I have worked with clients on new builds, remodels, as well as just refreshing their spaces. It has been such a privilege to work with every client and to help them turn their vision into a reality.

This is my space to create, curate, and collect.  Creating a home is what sets my heart on fire.  I've been designing spaces & collecting antiques for as long as I can remember.  You can read little more about my story below.

I'm so thankful you stopped by.  Pull up a chair & stay a while.  Here we will talk about styling tips & tricks, renovations, inspiration & all things vintage.

I'll go pour a couple of glasses of sweet tea....

ASHLEY MOORE | OWNER

Hey yall! I’m Ashley. I’m married to Matt and the mom of Emma & Brady. We have a little piece of Texas that we call home just outside of Houston, Texas.

After graduating for Texas A&M in 2006 I moved to Houston to pursue my teaching career. I taught middle school and dance for five years, then retired to become a mom.

My love for design started at a young age. I remember moving furniture around in my room & spending my summers redecorating it for the following school year (bless my momma’s heart). I feel that my passion for creating well loved, well lived in spaces came from my momma. Our home growing up was always the place to be for all of my friends. After having a family of my own, I always hoped to create a home that felt that same way. The kind of place where you walk in and immediately feel like you are family. A place that isn’t too stuffy. A place where you can kick your feet up on the coffee table and not worry about making a mess. My home is beautiful, but it’s messy. We live here & with two young kids running around, I’d drive myself crazy trying to have it picture perfect all the time, nor do I want it to be. It’s my kind of perfect–toys in the family room, smudges on the fridge, sticky handprints on our kitchen island, & dirty, scuffed up wood floors. We share life here and I’m thankful.

I truly believe that God designed homes to be a place of gathering, conversations, messes, laughter & lots of love among family & friends. I hope to inspire others to create intentional spaces that are beautiful and well loved–not Pinterest perfect. Places where family & friends are always welcome and life is shared.

KATIE HOLZ | ONLINE DESIGN

Howdy! I’m Katie Holz. I’m a wife to my high school sweetheart, a mom to two young girls, an Aggie by the grace of God, and child of the one True King.

I love all things pretty! I always have. As a young girl picking out fabrics for my mom to make my dresses, to decorating my apartment room (every year) that I moved in college, and then re-decorating it, to building and designing my first home as an adult. I find joy in not only the aesthetics but joy in the experience that these things brought.

After graduating from A&M in ’08 I went back to school to get my teaching certificate. After teaching for 1 year I realized that takes a special person and I was not that person. Bless you teachers! I then opened a women’s online clothing boutique while working full time for my parents company using those same online skills. During this time we had purchased our property and began building our home in 2011. I soon realized that we were expecting our first child. Between working two full time jobs, one of which was a start up, being pregnant, and building a home, something had to give. I closed my online boutique, finished our home (kinda), and focused on raising our little girl.

Fast forward 4 years, I now have two girls, Evelyn and Vivienne, and was a stay at home mom when I first met Ashley. My oldest, Evelyn, and Brady were in the same Preschool class together. Ashley was our homeroom mom and had sent an email out to us parents. At the bottom was her signature for Souther Farmhouse Designs. So I clicked on it and it took me to her design website. Very intriged, I would always ask Ashley questions about it when I was around her. She probably loved all the questions…not!

Fast forward another year, by this time Ashley knew my love for design (due to all the questions), and had asked me to team up with her for some projects. I did and I loved it and that has lead me to where we are today!

I’m excited to work with Ashley in creating beautifully, well thought out, functional, spaces where fellowship and memories are to be had.
